Danielle Ross is a screenwriter and story researcher based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. She is passionate about authentic, diverse, character-led storytelling - particularly female narratives that explore the complexity of older women’s lives.
Danielle is currently being mentored by, and working with award-winning showrunner, producer and writer Victoria Madden of Sweet Potato Films (The Kettering Incident, The Gloaming) across an international slate of television and feature film projects.
In 2026, after almost five years of study, Danielle will graduate from the Professional Screenwriting program at RMIT University, Melbourne. During this time, she was shortlisted in the top 25 out of 23,000 students and awarded Highly Commended in the Creative Industries category for Student of the Year (2025). She was also selected for a study tour scholarship to RMIT’s Vietnam campus (2023). Danielle currently serves on the staff–student consultation committee for the screenwriting course.
Prior to her studies, Danielle lived in Hobart, where she was awarded a grant from Screen Tasmania to study at AFTRS. She is also the creator and co-author of Working Mums, published by Finch Publishing, Sydney (2018).
